What's buried under Gary, Indiana?

There is a conspiracy theory that the majority of proceedings on much of the Earth are allegedly overshadowed by a non-existent, very powerful corporate conglomerate known as the Logos Corporation.

The Logos Corporation - which does not exist - consists of a web of agents stretched across the globe. Allegedly, the aim of the Logos Corporation is the harvesting and long-term storage of data and information. And, allegedly, this consists of as much information as possible, no matter how trivial. Allegedly.

It is said that the Logos Corporation is a colossal labyrinth-like facility that spans for miles under the town of Gary, Indiana.

Why under Gary?

Although it is unclear exactly when the Logos Corporation was (allegedly) founded, it is said that Gary was theoretically chosen for its utter mundanity. There were fears that the economic and industrial boom of the 1920s in the area would disrupt day-to-day proceedings, but the new influx of factories being built upon the surface had minimal impact and even improved resources for the corporation in the immediate area. Now, by 1973, the city is starting to decline with the economic and industrial crash, providing much abandoned area on the surface for the corporation to work with.

What's CASE #122357?

One of the Logos Corporation's interests is a small island just off of the Florida coast, somewhere near the Bermuda Triangle. It is aptly known the corporation in their various filing systems as "The Island".

The Island has been under observation for several decades after observations of strange activity were observed in the area. Not all the tripe about ships and planes going mysteriously missing - Logos already knows what happened to those, and isn't interested in the least. No, it's the strange magentic activity. Poles don't behave as they're supposed to, either pulling in the wrong way or, occasionally, pulling much stronger than typically observed. For a while, Logos was unsure as to what was causing this strange phenomenon; however their focus has shifted more towards the effect.

The official Logos definition of the effects are as follows:

A very small number of individuals born around the same time as the fluctuations of the observed magnetic field have been recorded as possessing "anomalies". For these anomalous individuals, certain things appear to repetitively arrange themselves in a specific order that always conveniently benefits the anomalous individual. In other words, anomalous individuals appear to be able to bend the laws of reality in very small ways - ways so small that people will never realize they have one, and in ways that typically only benefit themselves.

As of June 1973, it has been noted that a scheduled upcoming magnetic fluctuation may cause a certain "pull" for anomalous individuals within the United States and draw them towards The Island. As such, arrangements are being made to admit these individuals to the Corporation for study. (Or, at least, they would be, if the Corporation was real).

This event, and how it plays out, is known within the Logos Corporation filing system as CASE #122357.

Synopsis

Skai has lived in a cabin on a remote part of the Northern California coast in complete isolation from the rest of the world for all of his twenty-two years. With his last living parent an active member of the world's most unheard of, non-existent, and morally dubious superconglomerate, the Logos Corporation, there's not much he can do about it. Then, when his father goes missing, he's forced to leave home for the first time to travel to his last known location - a small island off of the Bermuda triangle that doesn't seem to appear on regular maps - to try and get him back. The only weird part is that the only way to get there from the Florida coast seems to be... a pirate ship ???????
